Decade passed..

A decade has passed..

When I got up in the morning of 1st Jan 2011 i.e. 1-1-11, I went through a lot of emotions. Hits and misses. Adolescense to Adulthood. etc, etc. I promised myself, when Sun will rise in new decade, I will start doing something, which I rarely like to do, i.e. to change myself. Starting to write a blog was definetly the first step.

When I decided to write a blog, first thing that came in my mind was, What should I write and Where should I start? A little bit of googling(search engine has become an adjective in iteself), helped in the start. But again, I am not good with words. My English is OK, vocabulary simple and grammar passable. So writing about stories was out of question (I really appreciate those who have this talent, helps a lot in life). Suddenly a bright idea. Why not pen down a bit of introspection for the decade passed by. After all maturing from adolescense to adulthood is not a small fact. Person goes through lot in this phase and discover a lot.

So here it goes, 10 posts with 10 years of my life. The posts may be boring, may be lively and I really look forward to the comments to improve.

2001 Qualifying Exam

Dad:- Beta, abhi bahut important exam hai, abhi padhai karoge saara time aaram karoge... Me:- Jee Papa... Padh hi rahe hain.. Dad:- Lo Bade papa baat karenge.. Me:- Ok Bade papa: Babu abhi padh loge so saara time aaram se beetega.. Me: Ok bade papa, padhai chal rahi hai... This was the conversation I used to have daily with my Dad and Uncle. It was routine back then and every part of that conversation is still itched deep in my memory. After all It was time of qualifying exams, which in India we know as BOARDS. A brand new state was formed in year 2000, Jharkhand. Actually, 3 states were formed in that year, taking the count to 28. If Vallabh Bhai would have been in present era, he would have been very sad. After all, it was his hard work, which we see as Present India. Ok, That's a bit of history. Coming to the point. Bihar was divided in Bihar and Jharkhand. I was student of St. Xaviers' College, Ranchi. So, I was transfered to Jharkhand State Board...

India: Past, Present and Future

Histroy is a subject which every child detest. Facts, facts and facts. As a child, even I did that. But reading it now with a new perspective, gave me a beautiful insight of the subject. History teaches you a beautiful lesson, the lesson of how to avoid the mistakes committed in past. It also gave birth of a Cynics in me. I started analysing history of India critically and came through a stark contrast on Indian society of Past and Present. It gave me a real insight on the Indian society in general and status of women, education, divide between reach and poor in particular, and the moribund state we are today in. India is a country, which basically came into existence during the british expansion era. Had it not been the British, we could have been still a feudal society with lots of social evil prevailing. Many historians (I agree they are far more educated than me on the topic, but it's strictly my point of view) , dates back the history of India to "Indus Valley Ci...

Baba Ramdev's Fast Necessary?

When clock will strike 8 on 04.06.2011, Baba Ramdev will start his fight against corruption by going on Hunger Strike. The date has an uncanny history. It was the day when Japan bombed Midway Island after Pearl Harbor, which prompted USA to join WW2. When I heard the news first, I remembered the devastation, a single act caused to the world. Had it not been the bombing of Pearl harbor and Midway Island, USA would not have joined the war and most probably, Atom Bombs would not have been discovered. I know there are lot of ifs and buts, still it might have been possible. USA retaliated in the way natural to human being. I pictured Government as USA and Civic Society as Japan (Please don't go in to the literal similarity. The causes are entirely different) and a fear groped me. The fear of retaliation from government. I know my fear and comparison is a bit far fetched. But lets analyze my statement in the context of what Anna Hazare and Baba Ramdev are trying ...
